Does anyone know what machine this is? This is a picture of Jake checking out his mother's hand crank sewing machine at age 2! Jake's Mom found this picture after we had started collecting machines! Was this destined or what, eh? We would really love to find one of these machines to add to our collection and display with the framed picture.
What a cutie...with chubby cheeks! :-) I'll leave it up to your quilting and sewing buddies to figure out what kind of machine it was! teehee!
ReplyDeletewat een lekker jochie! (what a yummy little boy)
ReplyDeleteAwww, cute! He looks like Eric in that picture, I think.
ReplyDeleteHi. I think this machine has the same detailing as the Winsor B by National featured on page 419 of The Encyclopeida of Early American and Antique Sewing Machines, by Carter Bay. I'm not totally certain since there is not picture of the back of the machine in the book, just the front and your pic is the back. Also, the pic in the book does not have the handcrank attached. But it's a start. Because of the Decals being the same, I would say they are the same manufacturer. Not sure if National made their own machines or if they were like AG Mason and commisioned their work from a company like White or Singer. Hope this helps.
