Christopher's Canadian baby quilt

Last year our Church sponsored a refugee family and they just had a baby boy recently.  We were including her in the shower, which unfortunately had to be canceled, even though it's her second baby 👶.  It's a first Canadian baby.

I found this Canadian panel in my stash with some fabric in the same line and thought this would be perfect for the Canadian born baby.  We delivered the quilt to them last weekend as well and had a lovely little visit with Roza and their 4 year old daughter Christina, half in English and half in her language.

The panels were a lot of fun.  I cut them apart and added the grey with white maple leafs and then added the companion print to the top and bottom.

I quilted it with wavy lines. The binding is also from this line of fabric.

I happened to have a stuffed bambi in my gift stash and wrapped it up for Christina.  She was thrilled with her little yellow gift bag!

Baby quilt for Aria

Our Church ladies always host a baby shower for first babies.  The shower was scheduled at the end of March and of course with this virus, that had to be canceled.  So, we delivered the quilt personally this past weekend and had a lovely little porch visit as well☺.

This quilt was for Becky's baby Aria.  I had picked up the bunny rabbit fabric awhile ago at a local quilt shop.  I was going to put the white rabbit fabric (on the back) on the front of the quilt, but accidentally cut the brown!  I was worried that it was too strong, but once the binding was on, it looked great and it was probably a happy mistake :-).  I quilted it with straight lines which seemed to suit this pattern.  I used up most of the fabric in the back as well.  (Click on the photo for a larger view.)

Table runners

I found some pictures on my camera of some table runners I finished in October!  It's about time to post them.  I still have a stack of runners to quilt in a basket in a corner.  Once I start quilting one, I usually do a few at at time ☺. (Click on the photos to enlarge.)

I received a kit from a friend of mine and put it together a couple of years ago.  It's so nice to have it finally quilted.  It's very spring like.

I quilted it on my Bernina 830 vintage machine with echoed swirls all over which suited it.

The backing was included in the kit as well.

This was a sample for a class to try out a pattern.

This little mat was a little gift at a booth at Quilt Canada a few years ago.  We received a few 5" squares with a link for a pattern on the internet.  I quilted it with interlocking squares.

Ashley's Baby quilt

This quilt was made for my niece Ashley's baby boy.  Fortunately we had a shower for her before the lock down happened.  We haven't been able to visit the baby, but at least he has his quilt 😍

The finished quilt.  This was a panel which I cut apart and framed with solids in the colours that matched the backing fabric.

It was quilted in simple wavy lines

These animals are just so adorable

The backing is a companion print to the panel which I found in different shops.
